2009 Youth Hall of Fame
It is the time of year to recognize youth in the community through the Youth Hall of Fame Awards. This signature event of the Countywide Youth Commission (CYC) is to recognize ten youth (five middle school youth and five high school youth) and one adult from Contra Costa County, whose achievements would otherwise go unrecognized. We present awards in the following categories: Good Samaritan, School Leadership, Valiant Volunteer, Sports Leadership, Artiste, and Adult Advocate.
The Contra Costa Countywide Youth Commission (CYC) believes that there are many people who make valuable contributions to our communities and should be recognized for these good deeds. To this end, we are sponsoring a “Youth Hall of Fame” to recognize outstanding individuals — youth (between 12 & 18 years of age) and adults who reside or study in Contra Costa County— who deserve to be honored.
Do you know someone who has done a good deed in one of the following areas?
- Good Samaritan: someone who goes out of his or her way to do something good without getting recognition
- School Leadership: someone who exhibits outstanding school pride and who lends a helping hand for the good of the school
- Valiant Volunteer: someone who gives his or her time and energy to a worthy cause or organization
- Sports Leadership: someone who works unselfishly for the good of the team
- Artist: someone who uses his or her musical, literary, or artistic talent to benefit the school or community
- Adult Advocate: someone who works diligently to support our youth
There will be two sets of awards – one for middle school students in the five above categories and one for high school students in the five above categories.
